Criteria are profile characteristics that NIXZ uses to evaluate the returned candidates in more detail. When you start a search from a description or vacancy, NIXZ automatically creates an initial set of criteria based on your search.
Use criteria when you want NIXZ to automatically evaluate and rank candidates from the initial search based on how well they match your vacancy or preferences.
Where to find it
After starting a search, you first see the suggested criteria in a review popup before NIXZ starts evaluating the returned candidates automatically.
After the search has started, you can reopen and edit the criteria through the Criteria button in the top bar of the results view.
What criteria are
Criteria are evaluation rules. Think of specific skills, certifications, preferences, or requirements that matter for the match.
That is different from filters. Filters are hard one-to-one conditions used to preselect candidates in the search stage. Criteria are then used to evaluate the full profile of those candidates in the context of the assignment and can include broader requirements or preferences. For example, Has worked in an international environment is not necessarily a literal profile field, but it can still be a useful evaluation criterion.
What you can do with them
You can review and adjust criteria when:
- you want to make the evaluation more focused;
- the explanation per criterion is not sharp enough;
- you want to tighten the AI criteria after seeing the first results;
- you want to understand why certain candidates score well or poorly.
Practical use
Best practice is to work with a focused number of criteria, usually up to about 10. That keeps the evaluation sharp and makes it easier to understand why a candidate is marked as yes, no, or unknown per criterion.
